Louisiana LNG is located approximately 11 miles southwest of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The project includes a mid-scale, mixed‑refrigerant Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on the west side of the Calcasieu River. There are five identical process plants. Each process plant consists of one gas pre‑treatment unit, one condensate stabilization unit, and four chart heavy hydrocarbon (HHC) removal and liquefaction groups.
The facility will include associated utilities, refrigerant storage, three 235,000 m³ full‑containment LNG storage tanks, and three marine berths.
The Piping Superintendent is responsible for supervising and directing operations within the piping discipline. You will direct craft professionals’ activities and work schedules, and coordinate subcontract work activities and team development. Your oversight will ensure craft professionals have the tools required to be productive, comply with project policies, procedures, and job‑site work rules, and perform within specifications, schedules and budgets.
Major Responsibilities- Leadership / Supervision (Discipline Supervision up to 50 craft)
- Supervises and/or directs craft activities as assigned.
- Schedules work to be performed and reviews work accomplished by each craft.
- Planning / Productivity
- Determines workforce requirements.
- Coordinates established area operational plans.
- Tools, Materials & Equipment
- Monitors tool and equipment usage on the site.
- Oversees preparation of Field Material Requisition s for tools and consumables and ensures that the crafts have the necessary tools to be productive.
- Safety & Quality
- Ensures the most current design document is used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation.
- Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors’ performance comply with specifications and remain on schedule and within budget.
- Technical
- Works with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen and Craft Professionals in interpreting engineering design documents, vendor documents and other technical documents.
- Oversees engineering solutions with Subcontractors, Foremen and Craft Professionals.
- Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8–10 years of relevant experience, or 12–14 years of relevant work experience.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and lead team members effectively and positively in a collaborative team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to problem‑solve in high‑pressure situations.
- Heavy industrial direct‑hire construction experience in a supervisory role commensurate with the type of work to be undertaken.
- Experience in oil, gas, refinery, petrochemical, minerals processing, or power‑generating station construction.
- Computer‑literate in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
- Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
- Experience developing pneumatic and hydrotest packages and verifying and witnessing acceptance of tests.
- Understanding of applicable Bechtel work processes, including Standard Work Process Procedures.
- Knowledge of Project Bechtel Standard Applications (BSAPs) including Setroute, Unifier, Aconex, DSCS, PTR, Agile, Navisworks, and other automation tools used on Bechtel projects.
Work requires the physical ability to conduct field inspections, including but not limited to extensive walking in and around a construction site often in high heat and high humidity conditions, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces and working in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must be able to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress).
