Louisiana LNG is located approximately 11 miles southwest of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The project includes a mid‑scale, mixed‑refrigerant liquefied natural gas (LNG) production and export facility on the west side of the Calcasieu River. Five identical process plants each consist of one gas pre‑treatment unit, one condensate stabilization unit, and four chart heavy hydrocarbon (HHC) removal and liquefaction groups. The facility will include associated utilities, refrigerant storage, three 235,000 m3 full‑containment LNG storage tanks, and three marine berths.
Job SummaryIn this role you will coordinate and update survey strategy, provide technical support for laser scanning and meteorology surveys, and oversee survey computer aided design (CAD) drawings, instrument calibration, subcontractor survey work, and project drone operations. Your recommendations will ensure drone flight safety and high‑quality, accurate work delivered within schedule and budget. This role is assigned to Night shift.
Major Responsibilities- Support the survey team’s implementation of the project safety, quality, and environmental programs.
- Provide technical support related to survey to Field Engineering and Superintendents in a wide range of situations and configurations.
- Establish, verify, and maintain the project’s survey control network.
- Support the administration of the survey work request program.
- Act as Survey Eng./Party Chief & Office Surveyor.
- Oversee civil project completion documentation including "As‑Built" records.
- Ensure accurate layout of construction work and recordation of field data according to job specifications.
- Oversee calibration baseline checks of survey instruments.
- Act as Scanning Survey Party Chief and provide laser scanning support.
- Establish and maintain dimensional control (DC) as required.
- Perform field scans / reality capture surveys.
- Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 2‑5 years of relevant experience, or 6‑9 years of relevant work experience.
- Knowledge of engineering and construction methods and processes customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience.
- Knowledge of heavy industrial construction survey principles and supervisory functions related to heavy industrial construction surveying field & office activities.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team‑based environment, formulate working relationships with survey team members, other departments, and contractors, and manage survey functions. Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and Teams.
- Proficiency with Survey CAD software, such as TBC (Trimble Business Center) and AutoCAD Civil 3D. General awareness of environmental laws and government compliance standards.
Work requires the physical ability to conduct field inspections including but not limited to extensive walking in and around a construction site often in high heat and high humidity conditions, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces, and working in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress) and use appropriate standard issued personal protection equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.).
