About the RoleWe are seeking a Substance Abuse Specialist (SAS) to join our program in Lake Charles, LA. SAS is an essential part of the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team. The multidisciplinary team provides evidence‑based services to members diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness and co‑occurring disorders. The SAS provides individual substance abuse therapy and facilitates substance use disorder groups for consumers in service.
The candidate will create the person‑centered treatment plan, review and change the individual crisis plan as required, and complete annual substance use assessment. The role requires meeting the client where they are in treatment and utilizing motivational interviewing and harm reduction techniques. The specialist must maintain thorough and timely clinical documentation such as progress notes, assessments, treatment plans, and interpretative summaries.
Earn $22–$25 per hour plus a $7,500 yearly mileage stipend.
