Auto Estimators verifiy and provide electronic estimates on the cost of repairs for automobiles so that clients can determine a fair settlement amount. An estimator reviews each assignment by speaking with the owner or representative, researching records, and inspecting involved property to the satisfaction and approval of the client and/or claimant.
Responsibilities- Contact Alacrity clients to complete inspections/appraisals within given time frames.
- Verify and prepare electronic auto repair cost estimates using applicable estimating platforms (Mitchell, CCC, Audatex).
- Inspect vehicles and surrounding property, communicate findings, and ensure quality documentation.
- 1+ years of field claims experience including auto claims.
- Electronic estimating experience using one or all estimating platforms:
Mitchell, CCC, Audatex. - 1+ year of strong customer service and conflict resolution competency.
- 1+ year of ability to work independently (self-motivated).
- Excellent organization, attention to detail, and adaptability.
- Ability to establish contact with clients to complete inspections/appraisals within time frames.
- Smartphone or other device capable of taking quality photos and transmitting them.
- Promptly and effectively handles all assignments to conclusion, adheres to client policies, and demonstrates professional conduct and superior service.
- Maintains knowledge of local industry repair procedures and local market pricing.
- Working knowledge of Department of Insurance and State Regulations.
- Submits detailed auto inspections and damage reports, noting any open items.
- Identifies potential damages and communicates findings with the client.
- Plans and navigates daily routes efficiently using Optimizer Automation tools for quicker inspections and appraisals.
- Inspects all angles of the vehicle (interior and exterior) visually and manually.
- Establishes repair requirements and cost estimates; evaluates and negotiates repair costs.
- Delivers a positive customer service experience to internal, external, current, and prospective clients.
- Meets cycle-time and quality KPIs in a fast-paced environment.
- Articulates decisions and technical knowledge verbally and in writing.
- Reliable transportation, valid state driver’s license, and safe driving record.
- Professional business attire and appearance for public-facing service provision.
- State licensing required (if applicable).
- Appraiser’s license (if applicable to location).
- Adjuster’s license (if applicable to location).
- I-CAR Certification preferred.
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous auto estimating experience required.
- Mitchell, CCC, Audatex experience a plus.
- Self-determined scheduling with the ability to manage your day.
100% travel is required within designated territory based on assignment locations. Normal office or field claims environment. Ability to operate a motor vehicle for up to 8 hours daily, entering and exiting the vehicle. Must perform physical inspections of auto loss sites and work outdoors in all weather. Availability to work catastrophic loss events. Willingness to work irregular hours and travel with possible overnight requirements is a plus.
