Job Overview
Anderson Columbia Inc. is seeking an Asphalt Paver Operator for our Lake City FL location. This full‑time position offers a pay scale of $18+ DOE and includes standard hours Monday‑Friday (some Saturdays) with a 50‑hour work week. The successful candidate will operate the asphalt paver, maintain equipment, and assist with roadway construction on projects ranging from small backstreets to major highways.
Responsibilities- Operate asphalt paver and place asphalt in neat and orderly fashion.
- Maintain and care for equipment.
- Work with truck drivers, screed operators, and ground crew to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain reliable attendance and adapt to daily changes in duties based on project and weather conditions.
- Pass a pre‑employment physical exam and drug test.
- Possess a valid Florida driver’s license, or obtain it within three months of hire.
- Provide dependable transportation to the job site.
- 1–2 years verifiable experience operating asphalt equipment.
- Capability to work a 50‑hour week, including potential night shifts.
- Strong communication skills with crew members.
- Full‑time – standard work week 50 hours, hours may vary based on weather.
- Work week may include night work.
- Reliable attendance required; duties may change daily depending on project and weather.
