Join the New Grad RN Residency Program at HCA Florida Lake City Hospital. This year‑long, paid residency provides hands‑on experience to help you establish clinical and critical thinking skills.

Program Overview

As a resident, you will be surrounded by a supportive community of nurse educators, experienced nurses, and fellow residents that promote learning, clinical application, and socialization. You will transition from student nurse to registered nurse with mentoring, preceptorship, monthly educational sessions, simulation training, and an evidence‑based practice project.

• Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, identifying and reporting changes.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other provider‑ordered functions; document care promptly.
• Administer prescribed medications; monitor therapeutic response, promptly notify provider of unintended reactions.
• Respond promptly to patient requests; anticipate and resolve needs proactively.
• Teach patients, families, caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow‑up; translate complex terminology.

• BLS‑AHA provider card within 30 days of start.
• ACLS within 1 year of employment.
• Additional certifications possible during employment.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• Florida RN license or approved multistate RN license; compact license holders have 60 days after relocation.
• No previous experience needed.
• Some travel may be required for training.
