Position Purpose

Cashiers play a critical customer service role by providing customers with fast, friendly, accurate and safe service. They process Checkout and/or Return transactions, monitor and maintain the Self-Checkout area, and seek product knowledge to assist customers and identify selling opportunities. They follow policies and procedures to minimize shrink. A Head Cashier will position Cashiers and support them by expediting price checks, approving Point of Sale transactions and markdowns for mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.

They provide first level escalation for customer issues and assist in supervising, coaching and training Front End Associates.

• Process Checkout and/or Return transactions and monitor the Self-Checkout area.
• Provide fast, friendly, accurate, and safe service to customers.
• Proactively seek product knowledge to assist customers and identify selling opportunities.
• Follow all policies and procedures to minimize shrink.
• Support Cashiers as a Head Cashier by expediting price checks, and approving POS transactions and markdowns for mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.
• Provide first level escalation for customer issues.
• Assist in the supervision, coaching and training of Front End Associates and participate in training new Cashiers.

• Preferred qualification: 1+ years of cashier experience.
