The General Warehouse Associate is responsible for picking, scanning, labeling, moving, staging, replenishing, and stacking product. The associate counts and inspects product and notifies leadership when there are damages or discrepancies. Associates are accountable for safe and efficient operation of all equipment and will perform all duties as assigned. As part of the DSV team, associates are expected to meet company objectives in the areas of performance, safety, and quality and comply with all corporate and site-specific policies.
PickingResponsibilities
- Use a pallet jack to accurately pick orders and stage them in the appropriate areas.
- Stack, package, band, shrink wrap, and label products as determined by client requirements.
- Process all picking functions as defined by the Standard Operating Procedures.
- Verify that products and orders meet quality standards and report any damages or discrepancies.
- Stack, package, shrink wrap, and label products according to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Execute all safety protocols and accomplish job tasks in a manner that promotes safety.
- Maintain a clean, neat, orderly work area and assist in security of the warehouse.
- Comply with all Standard Operating Procedures, corporate and site-specific policies, safety rules, and OSHA/SDS Standards.
- Operate a pallet jack and other equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain equipment, report problems, and assist in building, grounds and equipment maintenance as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Work overtime as dictated by business, whether mandatory or voluntary.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must be able to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse during the warmer and colder months, ranging from mild to moderate.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy and ability to accomplish job tasks in a timely manner.
- Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance.
- Adapt to change and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
- Basic to intermediate mathematical skills to verify quantities of product and count inventory.
- English reading, writing, verbal proficiency.
- 6 months experience working in a warehouse, logistics or distribution environment.
- Current or prior Material Handling Equipment (MHE) certification.
Occasionally handling/fingering, sitting; frequently bending; constantly walking and standing; ability to lift/carry and push/pull 21‑50 pounds; reach above shoulder, reach outward, squat, or kneel.
Work EnvironmentRarely exposed to fumes or airborne particles; low to moderate noise level.
