The AWS
Platform Engineering Manager is a hands-on technical leader responsible for the reliability, security, automation, and evolution of the organization’s Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud platform. This role leads a team of engineers who follow disciplined software development life cycle practices, use infrastructure as code, and build repeatable patterns that enable secure, scalable, and consistent cloud adoption across the enterprise.

The manager owns AWS platform standards, technical direction, reusable engineering patterns, and delivery practices. This role develops forward-looking roadmaps, drives automation through Terraform and pipeline-based deployment methods, and ensures cloud services are secure, resilient, cost-effective, compliant, and aligned with business priorities.

The salary range for this position is $100,400 - $203,000 per year plus bonus. The base salary indicated for this position reflects the compensation range applicable to all levels of the role across the United States. Actual salary offers within this range may vary based on a number of factors, including the specific responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s relevant skills and professional experience, educational qualifications, and geographic location.

• Lead and mentor a team of platform engineers while remaining deeply hands-on in solution design, architecture decisions, and complex troubleshooting.
• Serve as a technical authority for AWS platform services, infrastructure as code, cloud architecture patterns, automation practices, and secure by design principles.
• Own AWS platform standards and contribute directly to the design and implementation of resilient, secure, reusable, and scalable cloud solutions.

• Oversee the administration, optimization, and ongoing operation of AWS environments supporting critical business services and product engineering teams.
• Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of cloud-hosted workloads through proactive monitoring, incident response, and continuous improvement.
• Balance operational stability with innovation, managing technical debt while enabling new capabilities.
