Sanitation Worker Job Summary
Our food processing plant is looking for a hardworking Sanitation Worker. In this role, you will use the Facility approved chemicals to CIP, COP, disinfect surfaces, sanitize all components of our food production equipment, and ensure that there is no unnecessary waste along the Production line. Clean and organize the chemical room, take inventory on a weekly basis, CIP all food processing equipment, you will also clean the floors, ensure that the building is well kept and tour ready, you will also assist the facility janitor to refill sanitary products and soap in the bathrooms.
Since we provide consumable products for sale and distribution to the public, we expect you to report any potential contamination issues to your immediate supervisor or manager. You may be asked to help with other packaging or processing tasks as needed.
- Use approved chemicals to disinfect surfaces
- Disassemble, sanitize, and reassemble food processing equipment
- Foam and sanitize food contact equipment
- CIP batch tanks and filler
- CIP cooling tunnel
- CIP pasteurizer tunnel
- CIP Pasteurizer
- COP food contact parts / equipment
- Documentation of chemical titration
- Sweep and mop the floors
- Clean out drains
- Dust ventilation ducts to ensure proper airflow
- Documentation of daily task
- Refill soap and hand towels in the bathrooms
- Report potential issues to management
- High School Diploma, GED preferred or 2 years experience
- Basic reading, writing and math skills are required
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal
- Effectively carrying out routine tasks with follow up, also being able to adapt to changes in schedule and staff throughout the day
- Knowledge of food manufacturing processes, procedures, and equipment
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
- Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed
- Regular attendance is required for this position
- Frequently standing and walking in production area
- Rarely sitting
- Occasionally climbing of ladders and/or stairs
- Occasionally lifting 25lbs and carrying 15lbs
- Rarely lifting 25lbs of weight to shoulder level
- Occasionally work at and/or above shoulder level, reaching with hands and arms for grasping and manipulation of objects
