Mercedes-Benz Centralized Diagnostic Technician

Overview

Mercedes-Benz Centralized Diagnostic Technician at Murgado Automotive Group. Base pay range is $45.00/hr - $55.00/hr about Mercedes-Benz of Foothill Ranch as part of Murgado Automotive Group, offering a luxury automotive service experience.

• Performs work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Diagnoses causes of malfunctions and performs repairs.
• Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
• Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
• Examines assigned vehicles to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
• Communicates with service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if the outlined work is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
• Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
• Road tests vehicles when required or refers to the test technician.
• Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.
• Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins and warranty eligibility and recalls.
• Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor and keeps customers' cars clean; notifies service advisor of any changes to the vehicle’s appearance or condition.
• Keeps shop area neat and clean and maintains dealership-owned tools and manuals in good condition.
• Complies with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know) and operates tools and equipment safely.
• Supports safety by reporting issues immediately to management.

• High school diploma or GED required; formal automotive schooling preferred, and/or four or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions; knowledge of all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance.
• Fast learner with excellent oral and written communication skills and customer service skills.
• Team player with ability to identify problems quickly and maintain an orderly stall.
• Good knowledge of automobiles; effective analytical and communication skills; good reading, computer, and mathematics skills.
• Ability to learn new technology and repair procedures and operate electronic diagnostic equipment.

• Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certifications preferred
• Valid Driver's License

Training and supervising an apprentice technician.
