Overview
Mercedes-Benz Centralized Diagnostic Technician at Murgado Automotive Group. Base pay range is $45.00/hr - $55.00/hr about Mercedes-Benz of Foothill Ranch as part of Murgado Automotive Group, offering a luxury automotive service experience.
Responsibilities- Performs work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
- Diagnoses causes of malfunctions and performs repairs.
- Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
- Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
- Examines assigned vehicles to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
- Communicates with service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if the outlined work is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
- Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
- Road tests vehicles when required or refers to the test technician.
- Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.
- Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins and warranty eligibility and recalls.
- Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor and keeps customers' cars clean; notifies service advisor of any changes to the vehicle’s appearance or condition.
- Keeps shop area neat and clean and maintains dealership-owned tools and manuals in good condition.
- Complies with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know) and operates tools and equipment safely.
- Supports safety by reporting issues immediately to management.
- High school diploma or GED required; formal automotive schooling preferred, and/or four or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend written instructions; knowledge of all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance.
- Fast learner with excellent oral and written communication skills and customer service skills.
- Team player with ability to identify problems quickly and maintain an orderly stall.
- Good knowledge of automobiles; effective analytical and communication skills; good reading, computer, and mathematics skills.
- Ability to learn new technology and repair procedures and operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certifications preferred
- Valid Driver's License
Training and supervising an apprentice technician.
