Empowered Staffing is partnered with a national provider of dining, environmental, and facilities management services supporting senior living and healthcare communities across the U.S. Our client is committed to long-term partnerships and operational excellence, serving hundreds of facilities nationwide.

Due to exciting growth, our client is adding a Director of Finance to the leadership team to own day-to-day finance and accounting operations for a newly formed, high-visibility entity. This hands-on role reports directly to the CFO and partners closely with the Controller and senior leadership to help build a scalable, tech-forward finance function. This position is based on-site in the Lake Forest, IL office.

• Own month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, general ledger, and intercompany activity
• Partner with the CFO on budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning
• Deliver financial reporting, dashboards, KPIs, and insights to support leadership decision-making
• Oversee working capital, including AR, AP, cash management, and line-of-credit oversight
• Support FP&A efforts for new initiatives, joint ventures, and growth projects
• Identify and implement process improvements, automation, and AI-enabled finance solutions
• Manage and optimize the finance technology stack (ERP, billing, payroll, reporting tools)
• Build strong cross-functional relationships and support the development of the finance team

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA and/or MBA a plus
• 8–12+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including 3+ years in leadership
• Strong GAAP foundation with experience in multi-entity and intercompany accounting
• Hands-on background with close, reporting, AR/AP, and cash management
• Systems-oriented and tech-savvy; advanced Excel and ERP experience (Net Suite a plus)
• Comfortable leveraging automation and AI to improve efficiency and accuracy
• Experience in service-based or professional services environments preferred
• Strong leadership presence, communication skills, and ability to scale finance operations
