Salary range: $38.04 - $49.45 per hour. Placement within the range depends on experience and internal equity. For union positions, placement is guided by the collective bargaining agreement.

Description

The CT Technologist reflects the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Medicine. The role complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

Responsibilities
  • Position and immobilize patient on examining table.
  • Administer contrast media orally and/or IV per department policies, patient history indicators, exam protocols and physician orders; follow through with post‑exam instructions.
  • Enter data such as type of scan, slice thickness, scan time and other technical data into computer.
  • Communicate with patient before and during procedure; monitor safety and comfort.
  • View images of organs or tissue on video display screen to ensure quality of pictures and produce radiographs.
  • Perform CT equipment QA and maintain required logs.
  • Perform clerical tasks such as receiving orders, scheduling patients, and recordkeeping.
  • Maintain and clean work area and equipment; replenish supplies as needed.
Qualifications Required
  • ARRT certification
  • IEMA Division of Nuclear Safety
  • BLS through American Heart Association
  • 2–3 years of undergraduate education or equivalent
Preferred
  • ARRT registry in CT or MRI
  • 1 year experience
