FINANCIAL COUNSELOR (Medicaid Eligibility) at COMPSPEC

Work with uninsured populations using government programs such as Medicaid in a hospital setting. Interview patients at the bedside to determine Medicaid linkage, secure third‑party applications for potential patients, and manage a portfolio for third‑party eligibility and recovery.

• Interview patients to determine linkage to Medicaid at hospital bedside.
• Coordinate the Medicaid application process.
• Process DPSS submissions related to Medicaid applications.
• Maintain computer literacy in Microsoft Office, Epic, and other hospital computer programs.
• Manage multiple tasks and priorities without missing deadlines.
• Communicate professionally and accurately with uninsured patients, internal staff, and in all written and verbal communication (bilingual preference).
• Understand hospital operations and healthcare industry computer systems.
• Work independently with excellent time‑management skills.
• Secure third‑party applications and manage eligibility/recovery portfolio.

• Bi‑lingual – Spanish a plus.
• Knowledge of Medicaid, indigent programs, and Medicaid application procedures.
• 1–3 years of experience in a healthcare/hospital setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Independent work ethic and excellent time‑management.
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Epic, etc.).
