Description
  • This is a Full Time position (40 hours per week) located on the Lake Forest hospital campus for MFM. Schedule is Monday through Friday; hours may vary based on clinic operational needs. Candidates must be flexible with their hours.
  • The Patient Service Representative supports the service area by checking patients in and out of appointments, maintaining the mission, vision, and values of NMHC, and complying with all relevant policies and accreditation standards.
Responsibilities
  • Communicate with patients and guests, including greeting them upon arrival, confirming identity, and providing necessary information related to their visit.
  • Complete check‑in/check‑out functions as directed.
  • Confirm and update patient identification and demographic/in­surance information.
  • Complete patient registration as needed.
  • Obtain patient consents/authorizations.
  • Collect co‑payments, past due balances, and point‑of‑service payments.
  • Post payments, process billing information and perform end‑of‑day cash drawer closing.
  • Keep the waiting area clean and comfortable.
  • Inform patients of any delays or changes in appointment status.
  • Schedule appointments as necessary.
  • For PSRs in the Immediate Care Clinics, float to other ICCs/departments.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Zero (0) to two (2) years of experience in a customer service position.
Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Bilingual.
