Job Description
Hours: This position is PRN, hours are 'as needed'
The Patient Transport Dispatcher reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
Responsibilities- Monitors and assigns patient transport according to request through the use of Epic.
- Sets priorities of patients transported according to predetermined departmental policy.
- Informs ancillary area/nursing units of any delay in service.
- Verifies information on request for accuracy prior to distribution to patient transporter.
- Schedules breaks and lunch for patient transporters according to patient volumes.
- Immediately reports to Manager any problems with patient transporters or undue delays in transporting patients.
- Upon request, coordinates area function in absence of Resource Coordinator.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or acceptable equivalent.
