Overview

A fast-growing company in the Public Safety technology sector is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to join its team full-time. This role is ideal for a hands‑on HR professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and is eager to drive impact across the full employee lifecycle. The position requires strong proficiency in Paycom, full‑cycle recruiting, onboarding, and personnel management. This hybrid role is primarily based in Lake Forest, IL, with limited travel to other locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all HR-related matters across the organization.
  • Design, implement, and manage HR strategies and policies aligned with overall business goals.
  • Lead and support the recruitment, selection, and onboarding process.
  • Oversee employee relations, including coaching, conflict resolution, and investigations.
  • Promote and nurture a positive work environment and company culture.
  • Manage the performance review and employee development process.
  • Administer and manage compensation, PTO, and benefits programs.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal and state employment laws (AAP/EEOC/OFCCP).
  • Utilize HRIS tools, particularly Paycom, for data management, onboarding, and reporting.
  • Develop and report on key HR metrics for leadership decision-making.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as an HR Manager or Senior HR Generalist.
  • Hands‑on experience with Paycom or similar HRIS platforms.
  • Strong background in recruiting, onboarding, and employee engagement.
  • Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of employment/labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Ability to influence and partner effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • SHRM-CP/SCP or HCI certification preferred.
