Description

Saddleback Church is seeking a passionate, mission-minded leader to lead and champion our local outreach from the Lake Forest Campus. This role sits at the heart of how we love our neighbors and live out the gospel every day.

The ideal candidate is a shepherd at heart: someone who deeply loves God, God’s people, and God’s call to make disciples of all nations. You’ll invest in volunteers, empower leaders, and help cultivate a culture of service that reflects Jesus to our local communities. This is a supervisory position.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Lead and coordinate Saddleback’s Local Mission initiatives.

  • Drive all Love Local initiatives.
  • Manage, supervise and provide leadership to the local missions team that will create tools for regional impact and local outreach opportunities by creating trainings for campuses to deploy such as Mission Insights, community assessments, Strengthen Families learning and engagement events.
  • Facilitate quarterly Missions Gatherings/Summits to gather campus mission leader volunteers to ensure unity and alignment across campuses.
  • Bring solutions to challenges and develop resource systems, drive innovation, provide leadership, development, training, and technical guidance for the staff team members supporting all aspects of supporting the growing number of Saddleback campus pastors.

This position will supervise, lead and provide oversight to the local missions team that:

  • Builds local mobilization strategy.
  • Develops strategy to strengthen local community.
  • Nurtures and cultivates local partner church relationships.
  • Designs pathways to increase awareness of local outreach efforts.

This role will work in partnership with the Global Missions Pastor

  • Provide leadership to ensure unity in Saddleback’s Global Mission strategic plans which includes supporting quarterly Missions Gatherings/Summits to gather campus mission leader volunteers to ensure unity and alignment across campuses.
  • Bring solutions to challenges and develop resource systems, drive innovation, provide leadership, development, training, and technical guidance for the staff team members at all campuses.

WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

  • Demonstrated experience in local and/or global missions.
  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills to manage the completion of projects accurately and consistently.
  • Modeled and contributed to team culture with flexibility and cooperative leadership.
  • Administration and worked on new platforms.
  • Must be able to communicate core truths of Scripture.

The person will be hired as a Manager or Pastor depending on ministry experience.

Saddleback Church’s pay philosophy is based on internal and external data for pay equity and budgetary considerations for effective stewardship. The estimated pay rate for this position is $75,000-$80,000 per year, depending on experience. We will provide a pay rate within our salary structure that fits a candidate’s qualifications and experience for the job. The posted wage range does not guarantee a specific job offer.
