Salary Range$34.50 - $55.20 (Hourly Rate)
Placement within the salary range is dependent on several factors such as relevant work experience and internal equity. For positions represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range is guided by the rules outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.

Registered Nurse BSN embodies the attributes of the Relationship Based Care model and performs to PPM core functions. Under the direction of the department leadership, consistently reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the State of Illinois Nurse Practice Act, the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
ResponsibilitiesRelationship to Patient/Family and Community
- Performs a comprehensive assessment on all assigned patients and documents it.
- Communicates changes in patient’s condition promptly.
- Utilizes appropriate nursing diagnosis and data from the assessment to derive realistic outcomes and documents them as measurable goals on the plan of care; modifies care plan, if indicated.
- Identifies and prioritizes patient needs and nursing diagnoses.
- Collaborates with patient, family and other members of the clinical team when planning patient care and documents accordingly. Assesses patients for discharge planning and makes necessary referrals.
- Evaluates and documents patient response to nursing interventions and alters the plan of care as needed.
- Assures completed discharge instructions, medication reconciliation and provides information about the patient portal and other resources.
- Supports patient/family/spiritual/cultural needs and identifies learning level and readiness.
- Utilizes teach‑back methodology for medication education.
- Distributes Krames for patient education/clinical condition.
- Uses Culture Vision as resource in care planning.
- Treats patients, families and staff with respect and dignity.
- Acknowledges and values contributions of significant others.
- Adheres to ethical standards of practice.
- Calls for an ethics consult when appropriate.
- Implements nursing interventions consistent with the plan of care based on evidence‑based care.
- Maintains and advances professional nursing science through use of resources such as Ovid/Joanna Briggs, Up To Date , Culture Vision, and other evidence sources.
- Demonstrates active involvement in clinical LADDER project or process improvement.
- Demonstrates safe medication administration through bar coding.
- Promotes and protects patient health, safety and rights.
- Conveys complete, timely, and accurate information during bedside shift reports/hand‑offs.
- Rounds hourly with patient care technician.
- Maintains a safe environment of excellence.
- Participates in unit quality initiatives and dashboards.
- Prevents pressure ulcers, falls, CAUTIs and central line infections.
- Serves as unit safety facilitator.
- Participates in unit huddles.
- Oversees and directs patient care staff; maintains accountability for patient care.
- Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills and resolves conflict.
- Performs charge nurse/preceptor role when assigned.
- Coordinates patient care for the entire unit and communicates with primary care provider.
- Serves as role model and mentor for new staff, students and other personnel.
- Precepts, orients and mentors as requested.
- Provides peer evaluation feedback.
- Collaborates with all hospital services to accomplish daily work.
- Identifies barriers to effective practice and communicates to nursing leadership.
