Registered Nurse - Alternate Care Space (Part Time, Days) with $1K Sign On

Overview
The Registered Nurse (RN) embodies the Relationship Based Care model and performs to patient care standards under the direction of department leadership. The RN adheres to the Nurse Practice Act, the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and regulatory and accreditation standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform a comprehensive assessment on assigned patients and document findings.
- Communicate changes in patient condition promptly.
- Use nursing diagnoses and assessment data to set realistic, measurable goals in the plan of care; update the plan of care as needed.
- Identify and prioritize patient needs, collaborate with patients, families, and the health care team, and make appropriate discharge referrals.
- Evaluate patient responses to interventions and modify the plan of care accordingly; include discharge planning and information on medications and resources.
- Educate patients and families, using teach-back methods and appropriate educational materials; respect cultural and ethical considerations.
- Maintain safe medication administration practices and uphold patient safety standards; participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives and huddles.
- Demonstrate leadership in coordinating care, precepting and mentoring new staff as requested; participate in peer evaluation and professional development.
- Engage in appropriate use of technology and documentation in the EMR; support unit safety and optimization of the care environment.
Qualifications
- Required:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license;
Basic Life Support (BLS). - Preferred:
National Certification in area of specialty; strong interpersonal and collaboration skills; ability to analyze and solve problems; ADN with commitment to BSN within three years of employment.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $34.50 - $55.20 per hour. Placement within the range based on experience and internal equity; union guidelines may apply.
- $1,000 Sign-On Bonus (Internal employees not eligible; exception for certain new graduates as described in policy).
