Long-Term Employment Opportunity!

Starting Rate $35.00/hour, paid weekly
Duration one Year with long-term possible
Monday – Friday 7:00am–3:30pm
2+ years of facility operations or maintenance experience and
Valid driver’s license with ability to operate company vehicles required.

Responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing building systems and equipment to ensure safe and efficient facility operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain building systems and equipment including:
  • Chillers (centrifugal & screw type), cooling towers, air handling units (AHUs)
  • Pumps, air compressors, generators, internal combustion engines
  • Electrical systems (including changing ballasts), VFDs, plumbing and piping
  • Ice machines, A/C units, and building automation systems (BAS – pneumatic & digital)
  • Ensure safe and economical operation of all facilities and equipment
  • Follow management directives related to building operations
  • Complete and report work orders using automated systems
  • Perform routine inspections to support safety and compliance
  • Identify and assist with energy conservation opportunities
  • Attend training to improve technical skills and stay current with best practices
  • Assist in reviewing and updating engineering procedures
  • Carry out other duties supporting the physical resources department and Grainger’s mission
Qualification
Preferred:
  • Experience with:
  • Steam boilers, HVAC systems, electrical and plumbing systems
  • BAS (e.g., Johnson Controls), work order management systems
  • Microsoft Word and Excel (e.g., maintaining spreadsheets)
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics
  • Familiarity with ordering supplies and inventory systems
  • Eagerness to learn and grow within facilities management
  • High school diploma or GED required
