JobFunction
The Planning Manager creates, organizes, and oversees all planning activities. This position is also responsible for ensuring customer requirements and company goals for on-time delivery are met. Success in this role requires developing, owning, and proactively reporting out on the master production schedule. Leadership skills are also essential when managing internal team members and making recommendations for meeting company objectives and capacity goals.

- Maintain a plan that satisfies customer requirements and utilizes available resources to meet scheduled ship dates.
- Receive production order requests from Account Specialists and develop schedules based on capacities, established lot sizes and customer delivery requirements.
- Ensure proper and timely processing using ERP system-based information to drive internal visibility.
- Establishes planning strategies and monitors effectiveness of scheduling.
- Supports SIOP process to review service levels, performance against schedule, inventory strategy, and resource implications.
- Evaluate customer orders and forecasts and react to changes in demand.
- Maintain control over production orders and schedule work centers to meet plan.
- Ensure timely entry and accuracy of work orders to allow for proper raw material lead-time and inventory control.
- Work with the business to help plan, create, and execute a capacity plan based on various inputs.
- Analyze customer data and create reports assigned by the Director of Supply Chain & Production Control
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Expert in ERP systems with strong experience in MRP/PRP platforms.
- Superior organizational skills and the ability to manage many priorities at one time.
- Ability to assess, plan, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Advanced computer skills and demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
- Analytical mindset with ability to proactively address key findings
Minimum educational requirements listed below may be substituted by relevant experience, learned competencies and/or certifications obtained throughout one’s career.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Preferably in Supply Chain or a similar field
- Previous ERP and MRP/PRP experience required
- 5+ years’ planning experience in a manufacturing environment
- Tooling and design knowledge, with familiarity of current metal stamping processes and technologies is preferred.
- Work is in an office and manufacturing environment with noise and some grinding dust. Must be able to perform light lifting.
- Must wear safety shoes and glasses while in production areas
