Position:
Greenskeeper - Seasonal

Classification:
Seasonal Full-time - over 30 hours per week weather permitting.

Reports to:

Department Director, Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent

Anticipated start date:
March 16, 2026.

Individual Goals and Expectations

Perform daily golf course maintenance including mowing, bunker care, trimming, debris removal, and course setup.

Complete assigned tasks with attention to detail, efficiency, and pride in workmanship.

Safely operate equipment such as walk mowers, riding mowers, utility vehicles, and trimmers after proper training.

Maintain equipment cleanliness and report mechanical issues or damage immediately.

Demonstrate awareness of course conditions, identifying areas needing cleanup, detail work, or hazard removal.

Follow all safety protocols, wear appropriate PPE, and remain alert while operating equipment or working around others.

Communicate clearly and respectfully with supervisors and coworkers.

Uphold professional behavior and appearance standards while representing Lake Geneva Country Club.

Work effectively as part of a team, assisting others as needed to complete daily operations.

Maintain reliable attendance, arrive on time, and be prepared for outdoor work in varying weather conditions.

Participate in seasonal projects such as aerification, topdressing, sod work, landscaping, and irrigation support.

Take initiative, show willingness to learn new skills, and apply feedback to improve performance.

Department Expectations

Follow all safety protocols and standard operating procedures, and training instructions. Wear required PPE at all times.

Report to work on time for all scheduled shifts. Notify a manager immediately if you will be late or absent. All time-off requests must be communicated in advance through your manager.

Maintain a professional appearance at all times. Hats worn straight, shirts tucked in, and golf-appropriate work pants or shorts are required (no jeans). Seasonal gear is permitted at the Director of Grounds’ discretion.

Carry yourself with professionalism at all times. You represent yourself, our department and Lake Geneva Country Club.

The Turf Care Center will be treated as if it were your home. Our facilities and equipment are expected to be “showroom ready” at all times.

Operate equipment safely and abide by your training. Phone use when operating equipment, or other misuse of equipment will not be tolerated.

Cooperate clearly, respectfully, and in a timely manner with peers and managers.

In the event of an issue, problem, or emergency, appropriately notify your manager and the Director of Grounds as necessary.

Ensure confidentiality of all club member and employee information and records.

Take initiative. If you see something out of place, unsafe, or needing attention, step in or notify a manager.

Abide by all other policies listed in the club’s Personnel Policy Manual.

Qualifications

Education:

High School diploma or equivalent preferred

Experience:

Prior golf course maintenance, landscaping, farming, athletics, or outdoor work experience helpful but not required.

Requirements

Valid Driver’s License.
Ability to physically lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as necessary.
Capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
Willing to adapt, follow directions and learn on the fly.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Understanding environmental demands, including heat, cold, sun and rain, as well as exposure to chemicals and the nature of working outdoors.

Compensation and Benefits

Minimum $15.50/hour, dependent upon experience
