Position: Nurse Practitioner - 10k Sign On Bonus (3114)

Overview

Job Description - Nurse Practitioner with a 10k Sign On Bonus (3114) ). This position provides general medical care and treatment to patients in the Urgent Care and Wound Center. The Nurse Practitioner demonstrates clinical ability to work independently, completes physicals, provides treatment and counseling, orders and interprets diagnostic tests, and prescribes therapy and medications as permitted by license. The role provides leadership by collaborating with physicians, ancillary staff, and other personnel to maintain standards of professional nursing practice in the Urgent Care and Wound Care settings.

The position supports the hospital's standards of behavior and policies.

Maintains quality patient care by complying with the Arizona Nurse Practice Act, JCAHO, state regulations, and hospital policies and procedures.

Undertakes duties as assigned to promote high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide general medical care and treatment to patients in the Urgent Care and Wound Center settings.
  • Perform physical examinations and provide counseling and treatment.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests; develop and implement treatment plans; prescribe therapy and medications as permitted by licensure.
  • Demonstrate leadership by working cooperatively with physicians, staff, and administration to maintain professional nursing practice.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and hospital policies; uphold the hospital’s Standards of Behavior.
  • Contribute to maintaining quality of care and supporting subordinate staff as needed.
Qualifications
  • Graduation from a certified Nurse Practitioner program is required, with approved prescriptive authority.
  • Prefer previous experience providing medical care within an urgent care center environment; wound management experience preferred.
  • Previous experience with an EMR system such as Docu Tap is preferred.
  • If required to drive on company time, must have a valid driver’s license and proof of updated insurance.
  • Valid Arizona or Compact States nursing license; BLS within 60 days of hire.
  • Allied Health Professionals (Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners) must be credentialed pursuant to HRMC Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations and not exceed the limitations of their licensure.
  • NPs must maintain all appropriate licensing and certifications required to bill Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payors; must not be excluded from the Medicare program.
  • The provider will obtain DOT certification within 6 months of full-time employment and maintain that certification throughout employment.
