Overview

Our client is a worldwide telecommunications company that offers voice, data and video services and solutions on its award-winning networks and platforms, delivering on customers’ demand for mobility, reliable network connectivity, security, and control.

We are looking for a Remit Tax Analyst to support Payroll Tax functions including Return to Cash and Remit Offsets for multi-state jurisdictions.

Location: Lake Mary, FL 32746 - Hybrid
Position: Remit Tax Analyst
Pay: $31.43/hr on W2
Duration: 12 months or longer
Hybrid: In office days - three a week - Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday
Shift: Monday through Friday 8am - 5pm. Weekends may be required during peak season with advanced notice.

What you’ll be doing

Your work will have a direct impact on our reported financial results and ensure compliance with internal controls and external legislation. You will also perform a variety of activities including data analysis and tax liability reconciliations.

This position will primarily support Payroll Tax functions including Return to Cash and Remit Offsets for multi-state jurisdictions. As part of the research process, it may be necessary to reconcile QTD and YTD tax amounts withheld, reported, and deposited on a quarterly and annual basis for assigned entities.

Responsibilities
  • Research and work with 3rd Party Vendor (ADP) for resolution.
  • Work directly with tax agencies to resolve inquiries pertaining to state & local taxes.
  • Compile abatement letter requests.
  • Prepare periodic and amendment returns.
  • Prepare intercompany transactions to reconcile tax offset discrepancies.
  • Identify and resolve escalations or complex issues with a strong emphasis on associated patterns, trends, and root cause analysis.
  • Review Control Reports conducting thorough reviews pertaining to biweekly Executive payroll tax processing, to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to established internal controls.
  • Review specialized Off-Cycle processing reports to address unique payroll tax events or adjustments that occur outside of the regular biweekly payroll cycle, ensuring accurate taxation.
  • Validate weekly Remit Validation Reports to ensure that all payroll taxes (federal, state, and local) are calculated correctly and accurately withheld from employee wages.
  • Systematically download and securely save all relevant quarter-end reports from ADP and People Soft payroll systems.
  • Prepare other reconciliations, schedules, or projects as needed.
What we’re looking for
  • A Bachelor’s degree, or three or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Multi-state/local Payroll Tax expertise.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel.
  • Third-Party Tax Application Experience, such as ADP.
  • Proficiency in HCM systems, such as People Soft and Workday.
  • Experience in Customer Service and HRMS/Payroll Processing system applications.
  • Tax filing and reporting expertise, encompassing both quarterly and annual filings, with an understanding of deadlines and compliance requirements.
  • An understanding of end-to-end Payroll functional processes and how they integrate with overall end-to-end Payroll Tax processes.
Even better if you have
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tax-related tasks.
  • CPP or FPC preferred.
