Our client is seeking a technically adept Manufacturing Engineer, Reliability to strengthen their production and engineering operations. This mid-to-senior level role plays a key part in maintaining product reliability, improving manufacturing processes, and ensuring seamless knowledge transfer within a collaborative engineering team. The ideal candidate will bring strong substrate expertise or experience in high-volume, high-reliability manufacturing environments.
Hybrid model in Lake Oswego, Oregon. Occasional travel may be required.
Responsibilities- Support ongoing production activities, driving continuous improvement and resolving technical issues to ensure manufacturing reliability and efficiency.
- Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to address quality or process deviations.
- Participate in the release and qualification of new parts, components, and manufacturing processes.
- Partner closely with cross‑functional teams and suppliers to enhance material and process performance, ensuring compliance with rigorous reliability standards.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship within the team, contributing to knowledge sharing and cross‑training initiatives.
- Evaluate and qualify new substrate technologies and provide design‑for‑manufacturability input.
- Engage with key customers and stakeholders, offering technical support and building strong client relationships.
- Conduct or support failure analysis and statistical evaluations to identify trends and improve yield and reliability.
- Contribute to documentation, validation activities, and supplier quality interactions to sustain high-quality production outcomes.
- Support occasional travel for supplier audits, collaboration, and training.
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–5+ years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering, preferably in high-reliability or high-volume environments.
- Proven expertise in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
- Experience with substrate or PCB manufacturing processes, including SMT assembly and packaging.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with hands‑on experience using statistical methods and tools.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across engineering, production, and supply chain teams.
- Experience interfacing directly with customers or suppliers on technical matters.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
- Familiarity with quality systems, technical documentation, and structured manufacturing processes.
- Willingness to travel periodically for supplier or customer engagement.
$110k–130k/year + Bonus (DOE)
