Position overview
:
St. Charles Community College invites qualified candidates to apply for the Full-Time Faculty Psychology position to begin Fall 2026 for the academic year. This position will be responsible for developing and teaching psychology courses delivered through online, hybrid, and in-person modalities. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, student learning, assessment, and the use of technology in instruction to improve student learning outcomes.
The candidate will demonstrate varied teaching techniques that help students develop critical thinking, research skills, and understand the relevance of psychology in their lives. The successful candidate will participate in professional development, engage in assessment activities, attend faculty and committee meetings, and perform other duties as assigned. The position is on-site with campus presence. The Psychology faculty reports to the Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences.
- Impart expertise, enthusiasm, and creativity in the instruction of psychology to a diverse student population with various learning styles and abilities.
- Effectively prepare and present course content, drawing upon disciplinary knowledge, skills, theories, issues, research, and applications to design engaging learning experiences.
- Maintain the appropriate number of office hours at times convenient for students.
- Provide meaningful feedback and timely responses to students’ work and questions.
