SCC invites qualified candidates to apply for the full-time Communications Faculty position to begin Fall 2026 for the academic year
. Courses will include general education requirements, Oral Communication, Interpersonal Communication, Public Speaking, Small Group Communication and Argumentation and Debate, as well as other Speech Communication, Mass Communication or Journalism courses as needed. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, student learning, assessment, and the use of technology in instruction to improve student learning outcomes. The candidate will demonstrate varied teaching techniques that help students develop critical thinking, research skills and understand the relevance of history in their lives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Impart expertise, enthusiasm, and creativity in the instruction of communications content to a diverse student population with various learning styles and abilities.
- Effectively prepare and present course content, drawing upon disciplinary knowledge, skills, theories, issues, research, and applications to design engaging and effective learning experiences.
- Maintain the appropriate number of office hours at times convenient for students.
- Provide meaningful feedback and timely responses to students’ work and questions.
- Meet all division, department, and college. For full consideration, submit all application materials by November 30, 2025.
