This position reports to the Technical Services Team Lead and provides quality IT installation and support services to NISC customers nationwide. It collaborates closely with all NISC departments and is responsible for installing and supporting NISC customer systems and IT‑related applications in a Linux/Java/Oracle/Progress environment.
Key Responsibilities- Install, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot hardware and software for NISC customer systems, including iVUE Administration, Sys Admin, E‑bill, Document Imaging, SIP Communications, Microsoft Windows desktops and servers.
- Provide implementation services: staging, installation, configuration, user training, and hardware replacements at production sites.
- Perform operating system and firmware upgrades.
- Mastery of iVUE Server installations at small to medium‑sized customer sites (25,000 accounts/10,000 subscribers).
- Mastery of Web Proxy Server (E‑bill) installations at all customer sites.
- Prepare monitors, updates, and communicate the Software Implementation Lifecycle (SILC) for all installations.
- Provide superior member support for internal and external members: document issues, research problems, resolve issues, and recommend enhancements.
- Resolve problems across Intel‑based hardware, Linux OS, Windows OS, VMware configuration, and member applications.
- Support projects that reduce support for NISC members and the Technical Services Install team.
- Leverage generative AI tools to enhance productivity, creativity, and problem‑solving.
- Travel to member sites as required (up to 15% outside office).
- Commit to NISC’s Statement of Shared Values.
Hybrid model after an initial training period. Minimum of 3 days per week in the office, with the option to work all 5 days as needed. Required office days:
Tuesday and Wednesday; the third day is selectable by employee and supervisor.

- 3‑5 years experience with Linux and Windows servers or equivalent.
- Expertise in Linux OS setup, Intel hardware, VMware, Microsoft Hyper‑V, Microsoft Windows Server, Terminal Server, and Windows desktop OS.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, VPNs, firewalls, and network security.
- Basic knowledge of Project Management, Service Level Management, Cloud technologies, and the Utility and Telecom industries.
- Strong customer orientation, problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication.
- Ability to work independently and in a team, adapt to change, and maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
- Ready to travel as necessary.
Bachelor’s degree in a technology‑related field or equivalent experience.
MinimumPhysical Requirements
Must be able to see, communicate effectively, remain stationary, move about, and operate computer keyboards or office equipment.
