Asphalt Foreman

A Southland Holdings company, Johnson Bros., is currently accepting resumes for an experienced Asphalt/Roadway Foreman for large heavy civil projects.
Must have experience with operating skid steers, rollers, paving machines, broom sweeper and loaders!

• Provide overall leadership and direct the activities of field crew employees. Work with field employees to increase productivity.
• Review projects to focus on equipment and manpower; review job costs and equipment utilization reports. Plan and review projects with Project Managers, Estimators and Superintendents.
• Check equipment to monitor for repairs, utilization, abuse or neglect.
• Participate in safety-related training programs to increase skill set and knowledge base.
• Perform jobsite quality control checks.
• Ensure quality assurance on all phases of work relating to spreading, rolling, compacting and patching asphalt to form surfaces of highways, streets, parking lots, driveways, etc.
• Monitor all job site operations for compliance with contract requirements for noise and dust control, non-interruption of Government activities, and utility shutdown procedures.
• Actively promote a safety conscious culture. Follow all safety regulations. Mentor all new hires on crew.

• High School education required.
• 2+ years’ experience as a Foreman.
• Prior roadway, civil, paving construction experience.
• Prior heavy equipment operator experience.

• OSHA Safety Course Certification (30 hour)
• CPR Certification.
