Job Overview:
The Service Drive Sales Associate plays a key role in generating vehicle sales by leveraging interactions with guests in the service department. This position is responsible for identifying sales opportunities, engaging with service customers, and effectively transitioning them into the vehicle sales process. The associate works closely with both the sales and service teams to ensure customer satisfaction, increase sales volume, and improve overall dealership profitability.
- Guest Engagement:
- Approach guests in the service drive and establish rapport.
- Engage service guests to identify their vehicle needs, preferences, and potential interest in purchasing a new or used vehicle.
- Provide information about current inventory, promotions, and financing options to guests waiting for service.
- Answer questions about vehicles and the buying process to build guest confidence.
- Sales Conversion:
- Qualify service guests and identify those who may be in the market for a vehicle.
- Schedule test drives, appointments with the sales team, or follow-up meetings to discuss vehicle options.
- Work with guests to ensure they understand available vehicle models, features, and benefits.
- Collaborate with the sales team to ensure smooth transitions from service to sales.
- Collaboration with Service Team:
- Work closely with service advisors and technicians to identify potential sales leads based on guest vehicle issues, trade‑in opportunities, or expressed interest in upgrading.
- Coordinate with the service department to ensure a seamless guest experience and timely follow‑up.
- Customer Relationship Management (CRM):
- Maintain and update guest records in the dealership’s CRM system.
- Follow up with service guests after their visit to gauge interest in vehicle sales.
- Track interactions with guests and ensure a high level of guest satisfaction throughout the process.
- Product Knowledge & Sales Training:
- Stay current on vehicle inventory, including new and used car models, features, and pricing.
- Continuously develop product knowledge and attend sales training sessions to improve selling techniques.
- Achieving Sales Targets:
- Meet or exceed monthly sales targets and goals set by the dealership.
- Work with management to develop strategies for improving service‑to‑sales conversion rates.
- Guest Service Excellence:
- Provide a positive and professional experience for guests by addressing their needs and concerns.
- Follow up on sales leads and inquiries in a timely manner.
- Company‑paid training for new candidates.
- Meet requirements for manufacturer certifications in the areas of product knowledge and technology.
- Prior automotive or retail sales experience not required.
- Bi‑lingual with proficiency in both English and Spanish highly desirable.
- Exceptional guest service skills and desire to achieve CSI scores above manufacturer requirements.
- Excellent verbal & non‑verbal skills, listening skills and ability to problem‑solve.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite is required.
- Present a professional and well‑groomed appearance.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Some college preferred.
- Must have a valid U.S. government‑issued driver’s license, a safe driving record and be eligible to work in the United States.
- Must be able to pass a pre‑employment background screening and drug test.
