The Manager, Marketing plays a pivotal role in driving the commercial success of the Parenteral Nutrition (PN) business in the U.S. The Manager, Marketing will actively collaborate with multiple Fresenius Kabi business functions both inside and outside of the market unit (MU), including product development, regulatory, project management, manufacturing, supply chain, business analytics, contract marketing, customer service, sales, and national accounts.

The individual must be able to successfully facilitate and complete projects in a “dotted line” environment. They must be able to lead and manage others, can prioritize issues, deal with ambiguity, and manage conflicting deadlines. The individual must be proficient at managing multiple and diverse responsibilities simultaneously, as well as the ability to take on high level business initiatives as they arise.

This is a hybrid position, and the selected candidate will be required to work onsite in the Lake Zurich, Illinois office 3 days a week.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and masters an understanding of Parenteral Nutrition including current and future market trends, products, and competitors.
  • Supports and executes business plan to drive strategic initiatives.
  • Works with National Accounts to support PN channel and access success.
  • Works with the PN sales team, articulate and drive strong ongoing branding for Fresenius Kabi Parenteral Nutrition business in the U.S.
  • Actively champion products throughout entire lifecycle (feasibility, development, commercialization, and post-commercialization) to ensure customer requirements are met and target sales and gross profit objectives are achieved.
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of pipeline products and their characteristics and requirements, such as patent/legal complexities, competitive landscape, manufacturing challenges, pricing and market dynamics and barriers to entry.
  • Supports and executes go-to-market strategies for new product launches and line extensions. Leads the commercial launch execution including the development of brand positioning, pricing strategy, and product forecasting, and sales collateral. Supports Sales and National Accounts via training and tools.
  • Conducts continuous surveillance of the environmental landscape to assess and make recommendations of future product needs to help achieve business goals. Define market research needs and works with the Market Research team to design research studies to inform customer requirements and product development.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally to align forecasting goals between the Market Unit (MU) and the Production Unit (PU) and between Commercial Business Units. Works with internal/external manufacturing, supply chain, and customer service to ensure accurate and timely forecasting for new and existing products. Includes monthly analysis of key variances and market drivers to help improve forecast accuracy.
  • Actively work with business analytics team in regular forecasting cycles to derive market and product assumptions. Develops a thorough understanding of key product performance metrics including sales variances and contract compliance opportunities.
  • Develops and executes pricing strategies to help maximize portfolio sales and gross profit. Serves as a resource and partner in the various sales channels such as specialty distributors, wholesalers, and group purchasing organizations. Works with national accounts, trade relations, business analytics, and contract marketing.
