At Medical Murray, we specialize in creating innovative catheter-based medical devices that help improve patient outcomes around the world. We're seeking an experienced Senior Assembler to join our manufacturing team and contribute to the precision assembly of complex catheter systems.
If you're a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a cleanroom environment and takes pride in craftsmanship, quality, and teamwork, this is an opportunity to make your mark in the medical device industry.
What You'll Do
In this role, you'll perform advanced and highly detailed assembly operations on catheter products and related subassemblies. You'll collaborate closely with engineering and quality teams to ensure products meet strict specifications and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform complex catheter assemblies using manual dexterity, precision hand tools, microscopes, and specialized equipment.
- Follow detailed work instructions, drawings, and manufacturing procedures to ensure accurate and consistent builds.
- Operate and maintain a range of production equipment such as braiders, reflow ovens, tipping machines, bonding and molding stations, heat shrinkers, and adhesive dispensers.
- Measure, test, and inspect assemblies using calipers, micrometers, and other precision instruments to verify dimensional and performance specifications.
- Accurately document work performed in device history records (DHRs) and verify line clearance per established procedures.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality to troubleshoot assembly issues, identify root causes, and recommend process improvements.
- Support process development and validation activities for new catheter builds.
- Train and mentor junior assemblers in advanced techniques and best practices.
- Maintain compliance with all GMP, ISO 13485, and safety requirements within a cleanroom environment.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certificate or associate degree in manufacturing, mechanical, or biomedical technology preferred.
- Experience:
- 3-5 years of catheter assembly experience or related precision medical device manufacturing experience required.
- Proven ability to perform complex builds involving multiple subassemblies, bonding, braiding, or over-molding processes.
- Experience working in a regulated medical device environment (ISO 13485 and FDA QSR).
- Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of catheter materials and bonding processes (e.g., thermal, UV, and solvent bonding).
- Skilled in measurement, inspection, and test equipment use (calipers, micrometers, tensile testers).
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, tolerances, and process documentation.
- Competent in using ERP/MES systems and completing electronic DHRs.
- Basic understanding of process validation, calibration, and statistical process control (SPC) preferred.
- Attributes:
- High attention to detail, steady hands, and excellent fine motor skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; comfortable collaborating across departments.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and mentor others.
- Committed to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Work on innovative catheter technologies that make a direct difference in patient care.
- Join a skilled, collaborative team that values precision, craftsmanship, and continuous learning.
- Enjoy a clean, modern facility with growth opportunities and on-the-job technical training.
- Competitive pay, excellent benefits, and a company culture built on integrity, innovation, and respect.
