We are looking for a Junior Electrical Engineer to assist in the design, implementation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and improvement of electrical engineering functions for the Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System (EMALS) and/or Advanced Arresting Gear (AAG). This role requires adaptability, resilience, and the ability to travel to challenging environments, including aboard naval vessels, military installations, or remote field sites.

Duties
  • Work with development, system engineering, and production teams to identify, characterize, resolve, document, address, and track electrical deficiencies. Includes power factor analysis, harmonic modeling, grounding analysis, short‑circuit investigations, and arc‑flash studies.
  • Contribute to technical presentations, electrical work products, and written communications to explain issues to management.
  • Create, review, and execute hardware design documentation such as interface control drawings, assembly drawings, test procedures, and other technical documents.
  • Develop and interpret engineering drawings of complex parts and systems.
  • Research and develop product specifications and interface requirements.
  • Resolve complex electrical compatibility and interface design issues, assessing performance attributes and key performance parameters.
  • Evaluate components to determine electrical performance impacts on existing designs in relation to cost, schedule, and performance.
  • Communicate issues, impacts, and corrective actions to stakeholders.
  • Interact with customers to gather critical information and review engineering plans.
Required Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited institution.
Required Experience
  • 0–3 years of relevant experience, including internships, co‑op programs, or academic projects with a strong emphasis on hands‑on electrical equipment.
  • Knowledge of (i.e., circuit analysis, etc.) and relevant coursework; leadership positions in IEEE or similar engineering organizations are advantageous.
Desired Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited institution.
  • Knowledge or experience in Controls, Power and Power Conversions, transformers, and rectifiers.
  • Knowledge or experience in Electromagnetic Interference (EMI).
Additional Requirements
  • This is NOT a remote position – work will be out of Lakehurst, NJ.
  • Travel readiness of 5–20% or more, domestically and internationally, including deployment aboard naval vessels or to remote forward‑operating bases.
  • Ability to work in challenging and often uncomfortable conditions (noise, confined spaces, elevated heights, extreme temperatures, humidity, fumes, dust, vibrations).
  • Physical readiness to lift, carry, push, and pull objects up to 50 lbs and to stand, walk, climb ladders, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity and fine motor skills for operating tools and equipment.
  • Must be able to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, respirators, and steel‑toed boots.
Security Clearance

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required.
