Staff Accountant
Location: Lakeland, FL
Compensation: $60,000 - $75,000 (Based on experience)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant with a background in construction accounting to join our team in Lakeland, FL. The ideal candidate will have experience using accounting software such as Computer Ease (similar to Quick Books), as well as familiarity with Procore for project cost tracking and management. A degree in accounting is preferred, and the successful candidate will play a critical role in managing financial records, supporting project cost tracking, and ensuring accuracy in reporting.

• Financial Recordkeeping:

  • Maintain accurate financial records for construction projects, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Manage general ledger entries, reconcile accounts, and assist in month-end and year-end close processes.

• Construction Project Accounting:

  • Track and report project costs, ensuring they align with budgets and contract terms.
  • Assist in managing job costing, billing, and accounts payable/receivable processes.
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate financial reporting in Procore and Computer Ease
    .

• Accounting Software Management:

  • Utilize Computer Ease and Quick Books to record and track financial transactions, and ensure accurate data entry.
  • Ensure the proper integration of accounting systems with project management platforms like Procore
    .

• Reporting & Documentation:

  • Assist in preparing financial statements, reports, and schedules for management and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure financial data is reported accurately and promptly, providing insight into project profitability and financial health.

• Compliance & Auditing:

  • Ensure compliance with accounting regulations and internal controls.
  • Assist with audits and prepare necessary documentation for external auditors.

• Other Accounting Duties:

  • Support the senior accounting team in other tasks as needed, including tax filings, payroll, and financial analysis.

• Construction Accounting Experience is required, including familiarity with job costing, billing, and financial reporting for construction projects.
• Proficiency in Computer Ease (or similar software such as Quick Books) and Procore is a must.
• A degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with team members and project managers.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
