EKG Technician – Full Time at Jump Start Games

EKG technicians are trained to perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) on patients. The primary role includes applying electrodes, attaching leads to the patient’s body, and conducting non‑invasive cardiac tests to monitor heart activity and detect conditions.

• Performs diagnostic procedures according to hospital policy and procedures.
• Ensures all EKG and ABI equipment is set up, operates correctly, and is sanitized after each use.
• Verifies order for each EKG/ABI from the MD and confirms patient identity twice.
• Communicates with the MD for unusual situations or special needs.
• Documents test results accurately and maintains patient records in the EMR/IDX system.
• Performs clerical duties for EKG/ABI: tasks exam to the appropriate credentialed physician, produces prints, copies, stores and distributes reports.
• Exhibits proper telephone etiquette when interacting with staff and patients.
• Follows risk‑management, infection‑control, and safety standards:
  Hand hygiene, proper use of biohazard containers, reporting hazards, and safe transport of oxygen tanks.
• Maintains current CPR certification and stays updated on new policies, procedures, and newsletters.

High school graduate
. Minimum six months of experience in a healthcare environment. EKG or Medical Assistant certification required.

Electrocardiogram clinical experience.

Current CPR card certification, or a new certification within 90 days of employment.
