POSITION SUMMARY:
The Inventory Control Supervisor takes a leadership role in the efforts of the Inventory Management department to maintain integrity of customer inventory and utilize department resources effectively.
ResponsibilitiesKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Determine forward-positioned stock requirements and parameters.
- Understanding of client expectations and importance of inventory accuracy relative to the business.
- Take an active role in staff supervision and task management.
- Work with Inventory Manager to assess department staff strengths and areas needing improvement.
- Perform visual inspections of warehouse and staging locations and address potential issues.
- Ability to execute reconciliations and report findings – product and/or customer‑specific.
- Review transactions daily for system or procedural errors.
- Alert Client Services of inactive inventory and pursue timely disposition.
- Able to process and analyze cycle count results and escalate where appropriate based on tolerances, client expectations, activity and adherence to SOP’s.
- Effective and discreet (written and oral) communication with multiple departments.
- Conduct training where necessary to improve performance within Inventory and other affected Departments.
- Job could require travel to other Knipper facilities.

QualificationsSUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS
Will carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include;
training, planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; motivating, developing and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving conflicts.
MINIMUM
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Training: High School Diploma
Business Experience
:
Two years of experience in Inventory Management, preferably in a Distribution environment.
Prior supervisory experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Intermediate‑Level proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent written and verbal Communication skills
