Fitter, Maintenance Technician ​/ Mechanic

We are currently seeking a Fitter at our Lakeland, FL facility. As a Fitter at Robinson Fans, you will be responsible for the fitting of all fabricated equipment. You must have keen attention to detail and the ability to tack and weld as needed. The schedule for this position is M-F 6:00am-2:30pm.

What you'll do

• Review project assignments/instructions from Team Leader.

• Review drawings and job travelers for specific requirements.

• Obtain an understanding of the task and develop an action plan.

• Tack assembly together per specifications.

• Ensure work meets quality standards.

• Consistently look for ways to eliminate waste and improve processes.

• Practice safety in all aspects of the job.

• Look for safety issues with equipment and processes.

What you bring

• A combination of training and strong fabricating experience is required for this position. High School diploma or GED required.
• Read and understand Robinson fabrication drawings, blueprints, welding procedures, and shop travelers.
• Ability to read weld symbols.
• Solid written and verbal communication.
• Sense of initiative and proactivity.
• Willingness to learn and cross-train in other departments.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to accept feedback and adapt to change.
• Originality and resourcefulness when setting out solutions.
• Fluent in English, working with written and verbal communication. Attend continual education for the welding process.
• Must be able to wear a respirator and safety boots, must be able to climb a ladder, hear safety alarms, and lift to 50lbs.
