We are seeking a highly motivated welder. As a welder at Robinson Machine, you will be responsible for welding the equipment fabricated at this manufacturing location. You must have keen attention to detail and the ability to tack and fit.
What you’ll do- Consistently produce high-quality and precision welds on all fabricated components
- Review project assignments/instructions from Team Leader
- Review drawings and welding details for the job
- Obtain an understanding of the task and develop an action plan
- Set up welding machine and other required equipment
- Weld assemblies per the required standards
- Ensure work meets quality standards
- Consistently look for ways to eliminate waste and improve processes
- Practice safety in all aspects of the job
- Look for safety issues with equipment and processes
- Participate in safety improvement programs
- Participate in tier meetings
- Work overtime when required
- A “can do” attitude and a willingness and desire to learn to build your skills as a welder
- High School Diploma or GED and a combination of training and strong welding experience
- Professional certification or successful completion of a relevant apprenticeship program is a plus
- Proven experience with FCAW, GMAW & GTAW welding processes. SAW a big plus
- Must be able to pass AWS D14.6 and AWS D1.1 welding qualification tests at a minimum
- Read and understand Robinson weld detail drawings, blueprints, welding procedures, and shop travelers
- Must be able to wear a respirator, lift to 50 lbs., hear safety alarms, climb ladders and wear safety boots
- Sense of initiative and proactivity
- Willingness to learn and cross-train in other departments
- Attention to detail
- Ability to accept feedback and adapt to change
- Originality and resourcefulness when setting out solutions
- Fluent in English, working with written and verbal communication. Attend continual education for the welding process
