JOB SUMMARY

Teaching in the lab and/or clinical setting with BSN or ADN students as assigned by specialty and needs of the Department of Nursing.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS



Reports to:

Chief Nurse Administrator

Supervisory Responsibility: N/A

Indirect Supervisory Responsibility: N/A

ESSENTIAL DUTIES - May include, but is not limited to the following:

Assist in simulation and laboratory teaching and/or testing, lead BSN or ADN students in the assigned clinical area. Other job duties may be assigned

ADDITIONAL/NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES

All remaining duties are considered "nonessential" within the context of the ADA, which means that the function could be reassigned to another employee in order to allow a disabled individual to hold the position. Alternatively, the manager could try to provide a reasonable accommodation so that the disabled individual could perform the function.

Lakeland Main Campus and off-site clinical partnership locations.

EDUCATION

Required

Education:

Bachelor's in Nursing

Preferred Education:

Master's in Nursing

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

Required- RN licensed in the State of Florida

Required:

EXPERIENCE

  • Successful professional experience of at least 2 (two) years as a registered nurse in the areas of medical-surgical, critical care and/or community nursing is required.
  • Personal commitment to teach in a Christian university and be in agreement with the mission of Southeastern University.
Preferred:

Successful professional experience in the areas of psychiatric, maternal-child and pediatric nursing is desired.

Required:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Medical-surgical, critical care, and/or community nursing knowledge is required

Preferred:

Successful professional experience in nursing education in the clinical setting is preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This position is considered non-essential for the purposes of Emergency Response.


Physical Requirements :

Must be able to push, pull, and/or lift 50lbs.

Schedule is flexible depending on the needs of the nursing department

TRAINING

All New Hires And Employees Transferring Into a New Position Will Have a 90-day Probationary Period Within Which To Learn The Functions Of The Job And To Be Evaluated. Following The Probationary Period, The Employee Can Transition To Regular Status, Have The Probationary Period Extended In Order To Receive More Training, Or Employment Can Be Terminated. Required Compliance Training Is As Follows:

SCREENING

All full-time positions at SEU are deemed security-sensitive and require background checks. Employees required to drive their own personal vehicle, a rental car or an SEU vehicle in performance of their duties must pass an MVR records check and meet the requirements of the University’s insurance carrier in order to meet the requirements of the position.
