Opening in summer 2026, Orlando Health Watson Clinic Lakeland Highlands Hospital – a state-of-the-art, seven-story, multi-specialty hospital – will serve as a vital 550,000 square‑foot healthcare hub offering:

• 300+ inpatient beds and 69 emergency and observation beds
• 11 operating rooms and four cardiac interventional suites
• Dedicated labor and delivery services, including a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) that will debut shortly after the hospital opens
• Comprehensive cardiovascular, neurology, and oncology services

• Conduct ongoing needs assessments and formulate educational plans based on the data collected.
• Develop and coordinate the orientation process for assigned areas, meeting with orientees, preceptors, and leadership to implement an Education Action Plan.
• Actively participate in quality and safety initiatives and adopt innovative teaching methodologies and technologies to engage learners.
• Develop evidence‑based and culturally competent curricula in accordance with ANPD standards, addressing the learning needs of team members at all levels.
• Use the ANPD Practice Model to create and evaluate department‑specific education.
• Observe and verify team member proficiency by assessing practice at the point of care and provide feedback.
• Collaborate with department leadership to review orientee progress and provide constructive feedback on skills.
• Evaluate competency verification methods; analyze data and report findings to key stakeholders.
• Collaborate on initiatives that influence department- or organization‑specific outcomes, with approval from the site education manager or designee.
• Promote and encourage participation in professional initiatives (e.g., AORN, AWHONN) and support clinical learning and corporate‑led courses.
• Serve as a preceptor for Learning Specialists and maintain visibility during day, night, and weekend shifts.
• Maintain comprehensive, accurate records of educational programs and comply with ANPD documentation standards and regulatory requirements.
• Generate reports demonstrating the impact of educational interventions, supporting continuous improvement efforts.

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an approved school.
• Current license as a registered nurse in the State of Florida.
• National specialty certification in area of practice obtained within two (2) years of hire (except where no certification exists).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) certifications, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) as required by department or unit.
• Three (3) years of related clinical experience.
