Job Description – Industrial Ground Maintenance/Shop Helper

SUMMARY: is seeking a reliable and motivated Entry-Level Grounds Maintenance/Shop Helper for a temporary position lasting 3 to 6 months. This is ideal for individuals who are mechanically inclined, enjoy working with their hands, and are open to learning new skills in both indoor and outdoor settings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Grounds Maintenance Tasks:

• Assist with mowing, trimming, weeding, and general landscape upkeep
• Maintain clean outdoor areas such as walkways, lawns, and parking lots.
• Operate and clean basic landscaping tools and equipment
• Remove and dispose of debris
• Assist mechanics or technicians with equipment maintenance and cleaning
• Organize tools, parts, and work spaces in the shop
• Load and unload tools, supplies, and materials as needed
• Perform light facility maintenance and cleaning duties
• Follow safety protocols and report any issues or hazards

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English are required. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to create standard correspondence both written and verbal. Ability to work from oral and written instructions.

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• No prior experience necessary, training provided.
• Strong work ethics and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform manual labor.
• Basic mechanical aptitude is a plus.
• Team player with good communication skills.
• Must be dependable and punctual.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift for extended periods while performing indoor/outdoor maintenance tasks.
• Regularly lift and carry tools, equipment, and materials up to 50 without assistance.
• Operate power tools and landscaping equipment safely and effectively.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind.
• Occasional exposure to loud noise, dust, chemicals, and fertilizers, with proper protective equipment.
• Must have the physical ability to climb ladders and access elevated or hard-to-reach areas as needed.
