Overview

Repairs, installs, and performs preventive maintenance on all production equipment to ensure that such equipment is always in good operable condition. Uses electrical and mechanical expertise to troubleshoot, repair, install and perform preventive and interactive maintenance on all production equipment accessories to ensure that all equipment is always in good operable condition.

• Install, operate, maintain, check, and troubleshoot all types of A/C and D/C electrical equipment. Install, troubleshoot, and repair solid state and electronic equipment as well as mechanical equipment.
• Use safe working practices and always report/repair any hazard conditions.
• Inspect machines, perform required tests, and complete all reports and paperwork as required.
• Perform PM and repair work in accordance with A.I.B. standards.
• Diagnose and apply proper troubleshooting procedures to determine when parts need replacement and when repairs are necessary.
• Dismantle, repair, and re-assemble gearboxes, fans, conveyors, blowers, compressors, pumps, valves, and other mechanical equipment as directed.
• Dismantle, repair, and re-assemble electrical motors, relays, timers, and allied electrical equipment.
• Install and repair electrical conduit, cables, piping, tubing, controls, and grounding as directed.
• Operate mobile lift trucks and hoisting in the performance of maintenance work; possess knowledge of simple rigging when necessary for equipment moving and relocation.
• Assist in maintaining spare parts inventory for the plant.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent preferred. 2 years of industrial maintenance/electrical experience required. Food/beverage processing or packaging environment preferred.

• Knowledge of local, state, and federal electric codes
• Certified for PLC programming (e.g., Allen Bradley or equivalent) preferred.
• Able to read and install complex electrical circuits from wiring diagrams
• Able to disassemble, repair and reassemble gearboxes, fans, conveyors, blowers, compressors, pumps, valves, furnaces, drives and all allied mechanical equipment related to electrical troubleshooting
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing oven combustion and safety devices
• Working knowledge of hydraulic and compressed air systems with the ability to read complex diagrams and troubleshoot these systems
• Experience installing and repairing pneumatic conduit, cables, piping, and tubing, including all necessary connections, controls, and grounding
• Working knowledge of the following equipment: MIG/TIG/ARC welding equipment;
  Gas & Plasma cutting equipment; power tools such as drill presses, cut-off saws, lathes, mills, and table tools; electrical test equipment such as voltmeter, megger, ammeter, diode, and SCR tester
