Job Objective/ Summary

The responsibility of an AC Technician is to install, service, or repair heating and air conditioning systems in resident's apartments and throughout the facility.

Essential Functions

• Test electrical circuits or components for continuity, using electrical test equipment.
• Test pipe or tubing joints or connections for leaks, using pressure gauge or soap-and-water solution.
• Join pipes or tubing to equipment and to fuel, water, or refrigerant source, to form complete circuit.
• Reassemble and test equipment following repairs.
• Repair or replace defective equipment, components, filters or wiring.
• Layout and connect electrical wiring between controls and equipment, according to wiring diagrams, using electrician's hand tools.
• Obtain and maintain required certifications.
• Comply with all applicable standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures and the maintenance of a clean work area.
• Inspect and test systems to verify system compliance with plans and specifications or to detect and locate malfunctions.
• Adhere to The Estates at Carpenters' policies and procedures, including those covering privacy and security in compliance with HIPAA regulations, and codes of conduct. Maintain confidentiality and respects resident's privacy at all times in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications and Job Requirements

Job Education, Licenses/Certifications, Knowledge & Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent. A minimum of one (1) years previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience.

• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
• Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of houses, buildings, or other structures.
• Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for service, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
• Troubleshooting - determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
• Critical Thinking - using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

Requirements

• Must successfully pass the mandated criminal background checks. ()
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Must be able to pass the pre-employment reference checks.
• Must be able to provide official grade transcripts of the education level provided on the employment application.
• Must be able to provide a copy of his/her own social security card for W-4 documentation.
• Must be able to provide applicable documentation(s) for I-9 in order to establish identity and authorization to work in the U.S.
• Must have valid driver's license, personal automobile liability insurance, and acceptable driving record (if required to drive).

Your tasks routinely involve exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues, or other contaminated materials. In compliance with OSHA standards on blood borne pathogens, The Estates at Carpenters will offer Hepatitis B vaccine to all employees who are determined to be at risk of exposure to blood or other body fluids and follow up to all employees who have had an exposure incident.

This vaccine will be provided at no cost to the employee.
