Sr Software Engineer - Finance AI

Publix Super Markets, Inc. is the largest employee‑owned company in the United States, serving 1,400+ stores and over 200,000 internal team members across 8 states. The Publix Accounting Automation & AI Team is a new, high‑impact group dedicated to automating complex processes and building AI agents that perform repetitive, cognitively demanding tasks.

This hybrid role requires 8 days per month on‑site in Lakeland, FL.

• Design and develop enterprise‑grade technology solutions focused on performance, stability, scalability, and usability.
• Utilize modern development methodologies with a cloud‑first approach, incorporating CI/CD pipelines through Azure Dev Ops, Git Hub Actions, or similar tools.
• Lead and participate in design and development meetings using Agile and traditional methodologies.
• Create comprehensive documentation for technical design, system specifications, and test outcomes.
• Serve as a subject‑matter expert for assigned applications.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation for production support.
• Collaborate with enterprise teams to assess requirements, design innovative solutions, and develop cutting‑edge systems.
• Mentor developers on best practices.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience with Python, .NET, C#, .NET Worker Services, ASP.NET Core, and background service patterns.
• Proficient in designing, implementing, and consuming RESTful APIs using ASP.NET Core and Swagger/OpenAPI documentation.
• Expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and Entity Framework Core, including schema design, complex queries, and performance optimization.
• Experience with AI methods, models, and platforms such as Microsoft Power Platform, CoPilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry.
• Experience building responsive web applications using JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, or Blazor.
• Skilled in deploying and managing applications on Microsoft Azure (App Services, Azure SQL, Azure Functions).
• Proficient in Git with experience in branching, merging, and pull request workflows.
• Advanced expertise in designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Azure Dev Ops, Git Hub Actions, or similar tools.
• Capable of writing clean, maintainable, well‑documented code.
• Strong problem‑solving and debugging skills.
• Experienced working within Agile/Scrum environments.

• 7+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience authoring and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
• Proficiency in provisioning and managing cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure using Terraform modules and best practices.
• Knowledgeable in automated testing, build, and deployment strategies for .NET and containerized applications.
• Experience with Azure and GCP cloud platforms.
• Skilled in supporting data and process governance for distribution system compliance in accordance with company policies, standards, and SOX requirements.
