The Pet Hospitals is looking for a Veterinary Technician Assistant to join us as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community.

As a Veterinary Technician Assistant, you’ll play an important role in pets’ lives by providing end-to-end care for our patients. Your work will include hands-on care, facilitating outpatient treatments, performing laboratory tests, and supporting services such as admitting and discharging patients.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
  • Assist veterinarians and the medical team in hospital functions to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
  • Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with your state's Veterinary Practice Act for credentialed veterinary technicians.
  • Communicate with clients about pet health concerns and Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional services.
  • Maintain relevant, comprehensive medical records with support from practice systems.
  • Obtain health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.
  • Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and keep treatment areas clean, sterile, and organized.
  • Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.

Experience & Skills Requirements:

One year of recent experience in a veterinary setting preferred

  • Commitment to working within a team environment
  • Positive, can-do attitude!
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Proven ability to multi-task in a busy setting
  • Professional demeanor and outgoing personality
