The position in University Placement Services (UPS) is responsible for counselling, guidance and assistance with applications as well as enrolment for Taylor’s College and Taylor’s University Transfer students seeking to continue their studies at the universities of their choice. He/she must work closely with institutions or organisations to ensure that UPS provides the best possible placement services to all students. In addition, this position is responsible for achieving the desired outcomes and KPIs related to placing all students to the universities of their choice.
Responsibilities- Create and promote awareness of UPS to all students, parents and stakeholders.
- Provide counselling, advice, guidance and assistance to all students and parents on university options and programmes, application procedures/processes, admission requirements, acceptances, student visas, accommodation, etc.
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding documents for application submission, application status, acceptance of offer, visa status/documents (e.g. CoE, CAS, ATAS, I20 etc.).
- Track, record and maintain updated students’ information, correspondences (between students and UPS/UPS and institutions), university choices, applications and enrolments.
- Responsible for University Placement information and promotional activities/events for UK institutions and UK Foreign Branch Campuses in Malaysia.
- Liaise and coordinate with UPS Marketing staff on the recruitment activities/events for UK institutions such as briefings, talks, presentations, workshops, counselling sessions, guest lectures, etc.
- Plan, organise and coordinate annual recruitment activities/events for UK institutions.
- Organise and coordinate mock or actual interviews for students.
- Organise and coordinate personal statements workshops/checking sessions for students.
- Organise and coordinate visa/pre-departure briefing for students.
- Prepare, amend and update admission/entry requirements; UCAS Schedule, UK Contact Lists, etc. Communicate changes/updates to all UPS staff.
- Conduct half-yearly training to UPS staff on UK information, processes, visa, etc.
- Follow up with attendees from promotional activities/events for submission of applications.
- Monitor, track and maintain record of applications and enrolments for UK institutions.
- Liaise with the Programme Offices for students’ semester/forecast results, IELTS, reference letters/testimonials, etc. needed by UK institutions.

- Liaise and coordinate with UPS Marketing staff on the recruitment activities/events for European institutions such as briefings, talks, presentations, workshops, counselling sessions, guest lectures, etc.

- Organise and coordinate visa/pre-departure briefing for students where applicable.
- Conduct half-yearly training to UPS staff on European Institutions information, processes, visa, etc.
- Follow up with attendees from promotional activities/events for submission of applications.
- Monitor, track and maintain record of applications and enrolments for European institutions.

- Assist in counselling during peak periods such as Open Day, Parents Teacher Meeting etc.
- Buddy for a colleague when he/she is away from office.
- Perform any other duties assigned from time to time.
- Diploma / Degree in any field
- A highly motivated professional with at least 5 years of working experience
- Assessment and referral skills
- Presentation and public speaking skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of career, university placement and counselling principles and practices
- Knowledge and understanding of the specific needs of students and potential students
- Ability to work with institutions’ representatives and any stakeholders
- Ability to manage people to achieve the KPIs.
