Para Professional in Lakeville, MN

Make an impact supporting students with high needs in a dynamic educational environment near Burnsville, MN. This contract position offers the opportunity to be a key team member in a dedicated classroom focused on providing the best possible support for students. With a schedule of 33.75 hours per week (6.75 hours per day), you will be instrumental in empowering learners and contributing to their growth.

• Completion of two years of college credits from an accredited institution, or
• An associate degree or higher, or
• Passing score on an approved academic assessment (Para Pro, Para Pathways, The Master Teacher), or
• Demonstrated competencies on the MDE approved competency grid
• PCA certificate (or willingness to obtain training is free and under an hour)
• At least one year of experience working with school-aged children in a professional setting
• Preferred: two or more years of school-based paraprofessional experience

• Support students within a high-needs classroom by assisting with academic and behavioral goals
• Collaborate closely with teachers and specialists, following individual education plans and adapting strategies as needed
• Promote a positive, safe, and engaging learning atmosphere
• Assist with daily classroom management, transitions, and activities tailored to each students needs
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times, ensuring student well-being and compliance with guidelines
