Companion Caregiver

Location:Spicewood / Lake Travis, TX

Schedule:Monday through Friday afternoons

Hours:Approximately 20 hours per week

Qualicare Home Care is looking for a warm, dependable companion caregiver for a consistent weekday afternoon assignment in the Spicewood/Lake Travis area.

This position is focused on companionship and meaningful engagement with a client living with early-stage dementia. We're looking for someone who enjoys conversation, getting out of the house, exploring activities, and helping another person stay active and connected.

This is an especially good fit for a caregiver who enjoys building a genuine relationship with one client rather than moving between multiple assignments.

• Provide engaging companionship and conversation
• Plan and participate in enjoyable activities based on the client's interests
• Accompany the client on errands, outings, and occasional medical appointments
• Provide gentle reminders and support with daily routines
• Encourage independence, social engagement, and cognitive stimulation
  
  Offer reassurance and patience when the client experiences memory-related challenges
• Communicate observations and changes in the client's needs to our care team
• Be comfortable working in a home with a small friendly dog

Required:

• Consistent availability Monday through Friday afternoons
• Reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and current auto insurance
• Comfortable transporting a client to errands, activities, and appointments
• A patient, engaging personality and excellent communication skills
• Dependable attendance and punctuality
• Comfortable around dogs
• Smartphone for scheduling and care documentation
• Ability to pass required background screening

Preferred:

• Previous caregiving or senior companionship experience
• Experience working with individuals with dementia or memory loss
• An understanding of how to encourage independence while providing appropriate support
