Overview

The aim of the Sender One Youth Program is to help young individuals discover themselves and connect with others through climbing, all while using Sender One’s Core Values as our guide. We hope to develop high‑performing climbing athletes in an environment that fosters a lifelong love for the sport and supports each team member’s personal development and growth.

Compensation: $20.00/hr (Level 1)

Requirements
  • Top rope certified
  • First Aid/CPR certified
Responsibilities
  • Lead recreational team practices for ages 6‑17 (Mighty Monkeys, Super Senders, High School Club) using the Head Coach curriculum.
  • Work with kids in Sender City and at the primary facility, especially during Climbing Camps (Kids Climb, Sender City, Camps, Climbing Academy).
  • Assist and communicate with fellow team members and other departments such as Customer Experience, Facilities, and Route Setting.
  • Motivate athletes of all levels and ages.
  • Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 30 lbs.
  • Manage inherent climbing risks and coach gym etiquette for kids and parents.
  • Answer youth program questions and build relationships with parents.
  • Assist youth participants with check‑in/out process.
  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge of all gym offerings.
  • Assume basic Pro Shop product assistance.
  • Complete department and operations checklists timely.

Time Commitment
  • Available for the session/season; align vacations with canceled practice weeks.
  • Maintain a consistent weekly schedule throughout the season.
  • Work a minimum of 2 shifts per week (Sun–Sat).
  • Fully available at least one weekend day per work week.
  • Attend mandatory All Staff meetings.
